LOOKING TO THE FUTURE

Key changes for the future were announced by James Caldwell as the award-winning Trove is being upgraded to allow advisers to better service their clients and comply with all regulations. This will allow the OF advisers more time to spend with clients, more effectively and cost-effiently.

The investment outlook was discussed. While the markets have had a difficult couple of years, since Covid, the Russian invasion of Ukraine and the current problems in the Middle East, there is still value in the market and the investment team is starting to see improvements in client portfolios as a result of the work of the investment team.

Financial regulations were also discussed. OpesFidelio members were reminded of the importance of having both IDD and MiFID licences. Particularly when issued by a single regulator. This gives the members a competitive advantage over insurance-only licenced advisers and their lack of product solutions and ability to provide investment advice and removes confusion for potential clients where other networks have more than one regulator and provide advice from more than one regulated entity.
